ESET Earns 64th VB100 Award

ESET Received its 65th Award by Virus Bulletin; Highest RAP Detection Score The test conducted by independent British magazine Virus Bulletin (VB) assessed the performance of 38 security products based on the effectiveness of antimalware protection. Only 28 of the entered products received the VB100 Award, which is given for detecting all In-the-Wild viruses , with zero false positive count..This performance has secured ESET its overall 65th VB100 Award.

Moreover, the tested product ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4, Business Edition achieved the highest RAP (reactive-and-proactive detection) score out of all tested products. The testing platform used was Windows Server 2003 and the "wild-list" of malware comprised new strains of polymorphic viruses, including some variants of the Sality virus, as well as a handful of Viruts samples. According to the Virus Bulletin report, a minimum of 1,000 replicated samples representing each malware variant were used in the testing, with the total size of samples in the WildList set exceeding 14,000.
