If you receive the error message "This installer is intended for use with Mac OS X version 10.5.x or 10.6.x!" when attempting to install ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac OS X or ESET Cybersecurity for Mac on the update for Mac OS X 10.7.1 from Apple, released 16 August 2011, download and install the latest version of ESET from our downloads page.

If you are updating to the latest Mac OS X version and leave ESET installed, full operation and system protection will continue.

We received reports from users of the error message "This installer is intended for use with Mac OS X version 10.5.x or 10.6.x!" when attempting to install ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac OS X or ESET Cybersecurity for Mac on the update for Mac OS X 10.7.1 from Apple, released yesterday 16 August 2011.

ESET security products for Mac OS X versions 4.0.70 and 4.0.72 are compatible with Lion 10.7.x. This issue only affects new installations of ESET security products on Mac OS X 10.7.1. If you are updating to the latest Mac OS X version and leave ESET installed, full operation and system protection will continue.

For new installations of ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Business Edition for Mac OS X and ESET Cybersecurity for Mac OS X, ESET will be releasing an update soon that is compatible with 10.7.1.

ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus version 5 combine ESET's heuristics scanning technology with new features and funcationality including Gamer mode and Cloud-powered Reputation system.

Here is a brief list of new features and enhancements:

Cloud-powered Reputation engine: Scan for malware faster and with enhanced detection while registering fewer false positives.
Gamer mode: One click suspends pop-up notifications, scanning and scheduled tasks while in full-screen mode.
